HAUMANA
Terms of use
The terms for using Haumana to organise household information and prepare property handovers.
Last updated 22 October 2026
Using Haumana
These terms are between you and Haumana Limited (NZBN 9429054042728, GST number 150-016-983). Use Haumana only if you can enter a binding agreement, or have appropriate authority to act for the household or business you represent. Our privacy notice explains how personal information is handled.
Haumana helps organise information. It does not certify a property, establish ownership, replace professional advice, or guarantee that a record supplied by another person is complete or correct.
Your account and responsibilities
Provide accurate account information, keep your password private and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Each administrator must use the required authenticator protection. You are responsible for the people you invite and the permissions you grant.
Do not upload unlawful content, malware, another person’s private information without authority, or material you have no right to use. Do not bypass access controls, interfere with other users or misuse the service.
Your information and documents
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give us the permission needed to store, process, display and share that content as instructed through the service. Keep your own copies of important documents and check information before relying on it.
Shared handovers can create independent recipient copies and retained receipts. Removing your source file does not recall a document already downloaded or accepted by someone else.
Plans, payment and renewals
All advertised prices are in NZD and include 15% GST. The plan or purchase screen and checkout show the price, currency, included features and billing period before you pay. Selecting a plan card does not itself charge you. A recurring subscription renews according to the checkout terms until cancelled. Builder handover purchases and any optional renewals are shown separately.
You can manage household subscriptions through your account’s billing controls. Review the confirmation for the effective date of a cancellation or change. If payment fails or paid access ends, some features may become read-only or unavailable. The applicable plan or handover screen explains its access and storage limits.
Contact info@haumana.co.nz if you believe a charge is incorrect or need help cancelling. Any refund or remedy required by law remains available; these terms do not exclude your statutory rights.
Builder handovers
Builders are responsible for the accuracy of their company details and the material they supply. Approval to use the builder workspace is not an endorsement of a builder’s work or a warranty about a property.
Check the recipient and selected records before sharing. Preparation, redemption and post-handover file access have the deadlines displayed in the app. A handover receipt records the transaction; it is not a guarantee of construction quality or legal compliance.
Availability and account restrictions
We take reasonable care in providing the service, but maintenance, provider outages and technical faults can interrupt access. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate misuse or address unpaid charges. Where practicable, we will explain the restriction and how to resolve it.
Contact us before closing an account if you need help retrieving information or understanding which shared, audit or billing records may remain. Cancelling payment and deleting an account are separate actions.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 and Privacy Act 2020. These terms do not create a blanket exclusion of responsibility for our services.
New Zealand law applies, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you elsewhere.
Changes and complaints
We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms or recurring prices, explain when they take effect and how to cancel if you do not wish to continue. Changes will not remove rights you already have by law.
Send complaints to info@haumana.co.nz with a description of the problem and the outcome you seek. We will investigate and explain the next steps. See Support for what to include.
